Poland's BGK Bank Provides Loan Guarantees to Ukrainian Firms

23-10-24

Poland’s state-owned development bank BGK has extended EUR 20 million in loan guarantees to Ukrainian companies operating near the war zone. These agreements were signed in Poznań between BGK and Ukrainian banks KredoBank and PrivatBank.
This initiative aligns with BGK's ongoing efforts to support the reconstruction of Ukraine’s MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises), focusing particularly on the energy sector, ahead of the coming winter. This effort is funded by EU grants and forms part of the Common Future Congress on Ukraine’s reconstruction.
"This EU-backed support will help Ukrainian banks assist in rebuilding Ukraine's energy sector, a critical focus as we face the upcoming winter," said Mirosław Czekaj, BGK's president.
