Switzerland Invests CHF 50 Million in Ukraine’s Reconstruction

30-01-25

✒️ Switzerland has taken a significant step toward supporting Ukraine’s recovery by investing CHF 50 million in projects led by Swiss companies operating in the country. This investment is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed between Ukraine and Switzerland, laying the foundation for private sector participation in Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts.

💪 Strengthening Economic Ties
Under the MoU, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) will provide funding for projects aligned with Ukraine’s strategic economic priorities. These projects will target key sectors where Swiss businesses are already active, ensuring efficient and impactful implementation.

👉 Project Selection and Implementation
The selection process for eligible projects is set to commence at the end of January 2025. The Swiss Embassy in Ukraine, SECO, and the Ukrainian government will collaborate to evaluate and approve proposals based on predefined criteria. The implementation phase is scheduled to begin in July 2025, marking a crucial milestone in strengthening economic resilience and development in Ukraine.

🚀 Future Cooperation and Growth
Beyond immediate funding, the memorandum sets the stage for a broader agreement between Switzerland and Ukraine on technical and financial cooperation. This will integrate Swiss-supported public projects into Ukraine’s Unified Public Investment Portfolio, as approved by the Strategic Investment Council. Such initiatives underscore Switzerland’s commitment to fostering long-term economic stability and infrastructure development in Ukraine.
