16-12-24

🔵 🟡 Ukraine is on the verge of a significant step forward in green energy development. In spring 2025, a Green Energy Construction Support Fund is expected to be launched, offering guaranteed payments to investors and driving the construction of new renewable energy facilities.

👉 What We Know So Far
The announcement comes from Oleksandr Podprugin, Regional Director of Notus Energy and Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association. Podprugin shared that the fund could be institutionalized by the end of winter or early spring 2025.

The fund's primary objective is to ensure long-term stability for green energy investors. By providing guaranteed returns and shielding stakeholders from fluctuations in electricity market prices, it aims to incentivize large-scale investments in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector.

🌍 International and Governmental Support
The fund has already garnered significant attention from both national and international players:
- European Governments: Several EU nations have expressed willingness to contribute financially to the fund and explore its operational framework.
- International Institutions: At least one prominent financial institution has declared readiness to serve as the fund’s administrator.
- Ukrainian Government: The Ministry of Economy has voiced strong support and is actively promoting the initiative, reinforcing its strategic importance.

🚀 Accelerating Green Growth
The fund’s creation reflects a growing consensus among market participants, governments, and international stakeholders about the need for a reliable mechanism to attract and protect green energy investments. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has also backed the idea, emphasizing its role in accelerating the construction of renewable energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

❓ What’s Next?
This initiative will likely involve participation from international donors to ensure a stable and guaranteed revenue stream for investors over the long term. Such measures will make Ukraine’s renewable energy sector more attractive and competitive, laying the groundwork for a greener and more sustainable future.

The establishment of the fund is not just about infrastructure; it represents a leap toward global collaboration, economic growth, and environmental responsibility.
